A4 – In a much modern western world, presidential election annual event probably mark as their national presentation to their next neighboring countries on once again showing how they practicing democracies at it best as an upcoming indicator to come, such as economy investment.

While here, in the much typical developing country which (still) trying hard to stand their background to be called as the part of democratic culture, election year probably best viewed not in term of its main political event perspective, but in other glasses, such as cultural…

A4 – Regardless any profession a man got nowadays to fill up his empty cash, all the masculine muscles had likely got their own superheroes figures standing there on their bedroom during childhood times.

Here in Indonesia, kids actually never get lack of any local superheroes figures based on Indonesian rich cultural heritages, started from Hanoman, Arjuna, Bima or even Gundala and Godam.

Hustle_1

A4 – Clock is ticking up… but yet, the sun is hardly being fully seen. Despite the weather which is looks cloudy, but that’s probably just another good news, because here down on earth a bunch of volunteers are making up their day by hustling on humanity!

Pink is chosen as the color of the day, while the words “Women build volunteer” is printed well along their T-shirts. On this great weekend, an international non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity is delivering all the best hands whom choosing to volunteering on building up houses, unlimitedly only by tools but also with all heart.

May Day_3

A4 – Labour ‘movement’ hard to be separated from world’s big history. From the tense off WW II war machines production next to the football field, the blue collar workers never get absent on taking part of historical solution, as world’s ‘political’ ball is kicking up around times, from major conflicts to minor ‘mayhem’.

Even now, centuries later after the rise of industrial revolution back on England, labour gets their own special recognition once in a year, as its numbers and participations become officially recognized as one of world’s power. A date which later well pronounced as ‘May Day’.

A4 – Predicated as the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta is not only swarm by it’s political issues, but also surrounded by overwhelming problems as the largest main centralized city of the vast archipelago.

Offering all the luxury to be called as a world class metropolitan city in such an ‘instant’ way, Jakarta soon become disoriented by lack of adequate masterplan which arise not only a new building in every corner of it’s protocol street, but also the ‘skytall’ problems that lately ‘towering’ streets of the capital.

A4 – As a part of nowadays frequent travelers, we will much often witnessing all the best that the modern world carried lately, started from the technology that take us all around in such efficient ways, entertaining ‘stuff’ which makes our journey much more exciting to come, or even… the very best appearance of  all the human that involved itself…

Yes… All that three things above is simply explained to be an aeroplane, a plane cabin, and… the flight crew itself, or best we called as… the female FA or flight stewardess… (Sorry for the male pilot, co & male FA), this is straight a male perspective… 🙂

A4 – As now we’ve become more addicted for a new adventure to come, our next destination finally set a new spot on map. Close and deeper into the root of Indonesia’s own history, soon our footsteps will leaving it’s trail on a ‘mystical’ sacred ground of Dieng Plateau.

Once called as the rooftop of Java’, Dieng Plateau is well famous not only for it’s historical ‘landmark,’ such as temples which scattered all along the hideous mountain’s height, but also offering it’s cool climate which surrounded by mysteries.

A4- This ‘piece’ of post is much personal… It’s reflecting one of the best moment which happened during the best day of the author golden age.

A love story? Perhaps… but in fact, it won’t be broken as the spell casted… A timeless love that not selling it’s romantic stories nor a personal secret, but much more represent hundred faces that redefine back love as a universal language.

The stories had it root from Yogyakarta rural area. Back in 2006, a great earthquake tear down all the surrounding area, leaving nothing but grieves and sorrow for all the growns up, but hope is not lasted… Not with those children… And this were their stories…

A4 – Just like it’s similar neighboring Southeast Asian countries, election day in Indonesia is much more colorful than just a ‘black or white’ prediction for this nation’s future. In this 5-years annual event, all is much exciting when viewed in a cultural perspective.

For a brief history, after finally gain it’s independence back in 1945, Indonesia later transforms as a new young republic which during it’s early years hoped to practicing democracy on it bests towards their vast background of thousand islands.

Such a large country, Indonesia which separated by three time zones, symbolizing various different culture, race or even religion background which later represent by numbers of political party that somehow ‘automatically’ also symbolized by… ‘colors’.

A4 – Busted by the law, and handed over inside cold prison bars probably a ‘sentence’ that mark as a ‘bad luck’ for the bad guys. While most prisons across Indonesia blown up the local newspaper with their ‘bad scandal’, a good positive news finally emerged from behind the one of Indonesia’s well known prison, Rutan Salemba.

‘Hotel Prodeo’, that is the ‘nickname’ for the terms of prison in Bahasa. Now, instead yelling and screaming scrambling behind the prison bars, the convicts of Salemba has their own way to make their ‘voice’ to be heard throughout the country, by amazingly sang ‘bit by bit’ of their music melody.

A4 – Based on it’s size per square, Jakarta is far away to be called as an ‘ideal’ green environment capital. Unhealthy symptoms, such as pollutions, noises or even scattered garbages seems to merging down, bringing a ‘nightmare’ throughout the capital as people slowly tend to become adapted of it… and called it as ‘normal’.

This condition is worsened by the lack of natural protection. A fact which makes any coffee shop or mall throughout this enormous megapolitan city which offering both air conditioned and couch succesfully tempting every visitors to bought their cups of caffeine while eventually take a break from the heat.

A4 – Back during the old days of school, we always get a sense that history class is much more closer as a ‘boot camp’ experiences. Why? Because when it said so, then… it was meant to be so…! No chance you’ll pass the exams by written down an argue about other historical ‘possibility’ which is already set so…

Somehow, the experiences  turn out to be quite different years after, especially when we brought out the class ‘whiteboard’ on a real quest. This time, there will be no teacher whom intimidating us about how the ‘ending’ should be… 🙂

A4 – While managed to leave Jakarta’s rainy weather back on the middle of February 2013, we finally escaped the capital longing for the sunny days of Yogyakarta. Located approximately 500 kilometres east from Jakarta, Yogyakarta mark their presence as one of historical city for the early birth of the young republic, Indonesia.

Years back during the struggle days for independence, Yogyakarta was honored to be the third capital of Indonesia, ‘replacing’ Jakarta and Bukittinggi which is located far in West Sumatra, and fall deep into the Dutch’s hands.

As a tourism spot, Yogyakarta or better known as Jogja is probably too comfy to met the dreadful fact, which accidentally happened right on the Valentine’s day. Friday the 14th… Boo…!

A4 – While New York and other North American cities was bitten hard by sub-zero Vortex ice assault, the other part of ‘time zones’ also shares the same invasion by mother nature, including Jakarta.

Well… Jakarta is well famous as one of controversial capital in the world. This vast urban jungle concrete megapolitan Southeast Asian city is well familiar not only because its traffic jam ‘disorder’ which last longer than any TV shows broadcasted, but also on its own annual ‘sick’ ritual, which is called… “Banjir”. A4 – While people across Indonesia storm the streets and landmarks for New Year 2014 final countdown, the national cops apparently has their own ‘party’ by unleashing their ‘firework’ towards terrorist’s hideout with bangs and bullets.

During the last countdown to a new January, a detachment of police’s special anti terrorist squad busting a group of terrorist whom residing inside their safe house in the outskirt of Jakarta.
